Shiretoko GOKO Lakes Snowshoeing

Entry qualifications:
- Ages: 13–74 years old
- Weight: Up to 99 kg
*There are no restrooms as this is a backcountry environment. You must be able to go without a toilet for about 4 hours or more.
Those who can wear snowshoes and walk on snow in a cold environment over a distance of about 3.5 km with intermittent ups and downs of more than 5 m in elevation. (The weight of snowshoes is approximately 1.5 kg to 1.8 kg on the left and right sides)
Those who are in good shape and can prepare sturdy cold weather clothing.
Must have general motor skills to understand and participate in outdoor activities.
Those who are able to manage their own safety and take group action.

* If the minimum number of participants is not met, the tour will be canceled 7 days in advance. Your reservation will be canceled, and you will receive a full refund.

② Utoro Onsen Bus Terminal *No parking available

＊Please refrain from taking videos during the guide commentary.＊
*Use of the Shiretoko Five Lakes Park in winter is implemented as a local project, and is limited to walks accompanied by registered and certified guides only.
Therefore, we cannot guide tours on dates or times outside of the period and times set for that year as part of the project.
*Children under the age of 12 cannot participate.Please note that if it is discovered on the day that your child does not meet the minimum age requirement, your reservation will be canceled on the day and 100% of the fee will be charged.
Those aged 75 or older will also be unable to participate. The same measures will be taken as above.
1. This is a backcountry activity with only one portable toilet on-site. There are no toilets during the approximately 3 hours of snowshoeing. There are continuous ascents and descents of more than 5m in elevation, so this activity is recommended for people with good walking skills.
2. The tour might be cancelled or discontinued because of the bad weather condition or unexpected accidents.
3. You will walk about 3 hours in snowing forest. Please wear warm clothes. Long pants, a sweater, fleece jacket, and waterproofjacket and pants on top. Woolen gloves, woollen cap, neck warmer, thick socksand sunglasses or goggles to keep you from cold.
4. Please refrain from consuming alcohol immediately before the tour, and refrain from consuming alcohol, smoking during the tour.
5. Pregnant women may not join this tour.
6. Please refrain from using cell phones during the walk.
7. Depending on snowfall conditions, you may be asked to walk in boots instead of snowshoes for vegetation protection and safety reasons.

・The gates to the roads leading to the Shiretoko Five Lakes have set opening and closing times. Therefore, if you are late for the meeting time, you will not be able to participate.
・After participating in "Shiretoko Goko Snowshoeing" at 7:50, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to board the bus departing from "Utoro Onsen Bus Terminal" at 12:30.
・After participating in "Shiretoko Goko Snowshoeing" at 12:20, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to board the bus departing from "Utoro Onsen Bus Terminal" at 17:00.
